FLIR Introduces New Infrared Camera System

10/11/2007

BOSTON, Massachusetts (October 11, 2007)FLIR Systems, the global leader in infrared cameras, announces the release of the ThermoVision® A320 Research infrared camera system. Together with the integrated ThermaCAM Researcher Software, the ThermoVision A320 Research system provides an affordable, flexible and powerful solution for precision temperature measurements and real-time thermal analysis for research and development applications. The ThermoVision A320 camera features a highly sensitive uncooled microbolometer detector, providing crisp thermal images for characterization and analysis of products and processes. This solution is ideal for providing critical real-time information needed to cost-effectively solve design problems and improve reliability.

The ThermoVision A320 Research System is designed to deliver accurate thermographic images and repeatable temperature measurements from -20 to 120 degrees Celsius or from 0 to 350 degrees Celsius, up to an optional maximum of 1,200 degrees Celsius. Each thermal image is built from over 76,000 pixels (a resolution of 320x240) sampled by the camera’s on-board electronics and software.

The ThermaCAM Researcher software is designed for use in scientific environments where detailed thermal analysis of dynamic events is required. It offers powerful built-in measurement and analysis functions such as isotherms, spot measurements, line profiles, area histograms, and image subtraction capability for fast and extensive temperature analysis on live or recorded imagery.

The ThermoVision A320 camera is compact and lightweight, measuring only 70x70x170mm and weighing 0.7kg. This portable and powerful IR camera fits comfortably on a test bench and can be easily carried to other locations for fast, mobile data acquisition and analysis. Simple and easy to use, the ThermoVision A320 quickly and easily connects to a PC or a monitor to produce high-quality, real-time images. The camera can be fully controlled either from the PC or camera menu.

The ThermoVision A320 Research infrared camera system is available in two models; the ThermoVision A320, which is equipped with a 100MBit, RJ-45 Ethernet connection with a data rate of 5Hz and the ThermoVision A320G which comes with an RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet Connection and a data rate of 60Hz.
